Privacy policy

The data KC Garage Door Tech records when you call or submit the form, the period it is held, and the parties it reaches.

1. Data recorded

Two intake routes exist. The telephone line records the calling number, the time of the call, the property location you state, and a description of the fault. The web form records the name, telephone number and postal code you enter, the service category selected, and any text entered in the notes field. No other field is collected and none is mandatory beyond name, number and postal code.

2. Automated answering and call recording

Calls are answered by an automated assistant that takes the details above before a person returns the call. Calls may be recorded for accuracy of the job record. State at the start of a call if you do not want it recorded and the assistant will take the details without retaining audio.

3. Purpose of processing

The record exists to schedule a technician, to brief that technician on the fault before arrival, and to document what was quoted and agreed. Secondary use is limited to resolving a complaint or an invoice query after the visit. The data is not used to build a marketing profile.

4. Disclosure

Your details are passed to the independent contractor assigned to the job, because that contractor needs the address and the fault description to attend. Nothing further is disclosed. Contact details are not sold, rented, traded, or supplied to data brokers, lead aggregators, or any third party outside the assigned contractor. Disclosure to a public authority occurs only where a court order or a statutory obligation requires it.

5. Retention

Job records are held for two years from the date of the visit, which covers the period in which an invoice or workmanship question is realistically raised. Enquiries that do not convert to a booking are held for ninety days. Call audio, where retained, is held for ninety days. After those periods the records are deleted.

6. Your options

You may request a copy of the record held about you, request a correction, or request deletion, by writing to hello@kcgaragedoortech.com. Identity is confirmed against the telephone number on the record before anything is released or removed. Requests are actioned within thirty days. Deletion does not extend to records a contractor holds under their own agreement with you.
